Guitar Tuition Should Be Fun
All guitar lessons are tailored to each specific student. I believe that the key to effective learning is maintaining the level of enjoyment for each person and so my lessons are always balanced between practical playing, learning a little theory, and having alot of fun.
Guitar Lessons For Children
I am a guitar teacher for children - I am CRB checked and already provide guitar lessons to a large number of kids. Parents are clearly more comfortable knowing that I have a CRB certificate that is reassuring for safety reasons. Teaching children is offen a challenge - each child is an individual with his or her own personality and potential. Identifying potential is imperative to my teaching technique, as young people tend to be more attentive and positive if they can easily recognise where they have improved and where they need to improve.
Guitar Tutor For Adults
Being a guitar teacher for adults, I cover just as wide a range of topics as those for younger students - from beginner lessons to more advanced technique. Many adults come to me because they have a gap in their learning that wish to addresss, whether it be left / right hand technique, or other aspects of their playing such as broadening their chord knowledge or their approach to compostion. I provide tabulature to students as well as standard notation and chord charts/scale charts depending on what the student requires or prefers.

Piano Teacher In Hertfordshire
As with the guitar, I have been classically trained on piano with Trinity College. I am also an experienced piano teacher in Barnet and I am able to play other styles such as Pop and Rock if a student has a particular taste which they would like to pursue. As with most instruments, a solid technique in sight-reading can prove crucial in order to progress on the instrument.
Piano Technique
Areas which I focus on with each student include sight reading, left and right hand technique, interval training, pedal training, scales and arpeggios and various other key areas. Regular practice will rapidly yield positive results!

This is a key area with any instrument, especially on the piano. In order to interpret classical music, sight reading is essential in order to progress. A solid classical training will provide the foundation for more complex areas such as improvisation and composition.
Left And Right Hand Technique
Dexterity and touch provide the player with control over texture, dynamics and rhythm - the building blocks for any aspiring musician. There are many techniques available to improve finger technique.
Scales And Arpeggios
These elements are central to improvisation and chord building - practising these elements can vastly improve a student's confidence - leading to mastery of the instrument if studied with dedication!

Being an experienced player, I am also able to offer guitar repair in North London, Barnet and Potters Bar for players who are looking to personalise or fix their guitar. I offer re-tuning, action adjustment, re-stringing and many other options depending on your requirements.

Their are many players out there who become frustrated with not being able to tune their guitar satisfactorily. Often, there are solutions to the issue such as adjusting the intonation and re-stringing - both of these options are available.
